SANTIAGO.- Jean Antonio Haché could not contain his satisfaction and impression of what he still considers one of the most impressive and exciting popular activities that Santiago preserves through the years.

With knowledge of the cause more than any other, Haché, for more than 10 years linked to local basketball, highlighted the benefits that the contest still has, since he worked for it.

“I never imagined that so many fans, of all ages and social levels, still attend,” he commented, who incidentally sponsored the GUG franchise (Barrió Libertad) for years.

Haché was recognized by the Organizing Committee of the event and the Executive Committee of the Santiago Basketball Association (Abasaca), for his contributions to the event that celebrates 42 years of existence.

“My satisfaction is twofold, as a former sponsor and former president of the Organizing Committee,” he said, who only regrets “was that I could not celebrate a title of the neighborhood, what I wanted most and my family itself.”

He thanked Abasaca, its managers, Governor Rosa Santos, president of the Organizing Committee, “for this recognition and for letting me know that what we did at our time was worth it.”

José Luis Aracena, head of Abasaca, his brother Robinson, manager of the tournament, thanked him “for his honorable and dignified presence and for his concern and interest that the event can continue to be set up as you did.”

He was invited to the kick-off last Sunday and was accompanied by his family.
