Jnge Krasser becomes an honorary member – rheintaler.ch

Roger Müller, the President of the JJJC Rheintal who has been in office since 2021, recently held his first regular general meeting in the Engel restaurant in Au. Roger Müller was extremely committed to the club last year and, together with the board, got things rolling and brought about many innovative changes. This was also evident at the Annual General Meeting, which ended with an entertainment section. The new members Corina Wigger (saxophone) and Yuri Molodtsov (magic) delighted the audience.

10 percent more members than last year

Müller introduced the members to the “Judo im Dorf” pilot project he had initiated, which is aimed at children aged six to nine. The pilot project aroused great interest in the community of Au – and so several locations in the Rhine Valley communities are planned in the long term, which should enable children to start judo training in their immediate vicinity.

The association recorded an increase of eleven active members last year, which corresponds to an increase of about ten percent. This is very gratifying, especially after the difficult years of the pandemic for club life.

The board awarded Jnge Krasser honorary membership. Jnge Krasser has dedicated a large part of her life to both judo and the club. She taught countless judokas for years and was very committed to supporting the next generation. She also actively supported the association as a board member. During her time as an active athlete, Krasser was an extremely successful fighter and was one of the stars of the Swiss Judo Association. She achieved top placings at many international tournaments, including a bronze medal at the 1982 European Championships in Oslo and a total of three gold medals at the Veteran World Championships (2004 in Vienna, 2005 in Toronto and 2014 in Malaga).

Benito Postai has been a member of the association for 50 years

Honorary member Benito Postai was honored for fifty years of association membership. He has been a coach for the club for decades. Benito has also been a referee for the Swiss Judo Association for decades. For many years he worked on the development of the association on the board of directors, and he has been on the organizing committee of the Rheintal Judo Tournament for 25 years. To date, Benito Postai is a successful competitor. In the 1990s he fought for the club in the Nationalliga B. Later he was active both as coach and as captain of the team.

The members of the association paid their respects to the honorary member and the jubilee with a loud round of applause. Alessia Schmid, Christian Rebholz and Andreas Kamber received a gift for their special commitment last year. Finally, Mark Schärz thanked the board on behalf of all members of the association for their work over the past few years.
