Judo: About sixty coaches participate in a high-level course in Abidjan

About sixty judo coaches take part from Monday April 11 to Saturday April 16, 2022 in a high-level course, initiated by the Ivorian Judo Federation (FIJDA) in collaboration with that of France (FFJudo)

The training sessions have started since Monday 11 and will end next Saturday.

They are led by Michèle Lionnet, Training Director of the French Judo Federation (FFJudo) and Christophe Hersant, Judo-Ju-jitsu trainer and physical trainer.

FIJDA President, Dsubscription Seydou indicated during the opening ceremony held on Tuesday at the CESCA headquarters in Koumassi that we can no longer talk about the development of Judo if we do not talk about training.

According to him, over the next four years, the policy of the Ivorian judo federation would be to install centers in almost 80 primary schools throughout the territory.

“To do so, we needed to have well-trained people, well followed so that from them we can have the quality” he justified.

“We have been asked as part of the collaboration between the judo federation of France and the Ivorian judo federation, to support teachers in developing judo in schools,” said Michèle Lionnet, training director of the French Judo Federation.

In terms of objective, she will say, it is a question of properly framing the characteristics of the children with all the necessary recommendations, the safety instructions and we try to do this by the different age categories.

“Our training will focus on three major modules at the level of basic training for the age categories from 06 to 12 years. These are the mental aspect, the technique and the bodily aspect. The workshops are supported by practical sessions,” she explained.

The “School judo project” will allow the installation of more than 80 judo rooms in several schools at a cost of approximately one billion CFA francs in materials and equipment, largely financed by the FFJudo. The objective is to reach 20,000 licensees within 4 years.
