Judo, Nicholas Mungai eliminated in the third round at the Grand Slam Antalya

The judoka from Pistoia passed two rounds brilliantly before being ousted by the Cuban Morales, who then took first place

Over the weekend just ended the Grand Slam Antalya, where the best judokas in the world fought. Among the protagonists also the Pistoia Nicholas Mungai, whose Turkish weekend was positive, even if it ended with a hint of bitterness. Mungai, included in Pool A of the 90 kg category, beat the Kyrgyz player first Sherov and then German Wieczerzak. The race of the Pistoian judoka was interrupted in the third round, when Mungai was forced to forfeit due to a physical problem against the Cuban Silva Morales. For the record, Morales also imposed himself in the following rounds and conquered the first place.

The blue technician Raffaele Toniolo commented the elimination of Mungai: “Strange race today, well ours even if no one managed to get into the quarters – says Toniolo on the website of the Fijlkam. Nicholas had to retire for a blow received by the Cuban who got him one lesion of the ileum-psoas. We go home aware that ours have excellent opportunities and we continue to work with our minds on the next appointments ».
