The two days of the Riccione stage of the Italian Judo Fijlkam Trophy ended, which saw about 500 Under 14 athletes, coming from all over Italy, competing for precious points for the climb to the national ranking list, in anticipation of the Italian Championships of the category that will be held in Ostia next November. The event, organized by the Regional Committee of the Italian Judo Fighting Karate and Martial Arts Federation, in the person of the vice president of the Judo sector Francesco Rasori and the Judo Section of the Polisportiva Riccione coordinated by Maestro Giuseppe Longo, saw a real and its own restart of the judo of the post-pandemic era. In fact, the last Italian Trophy was held in Riccione on February 14, 2020 before the lockdown and now we are leaving from the Romagna town to give these young talents the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
The Riccione event had the burden and the honor of hosting for the first time also a session of the national exam for National Referees and Presidents of the Jury. The Regional Committee has also made an effort to experiment with the streaming of the event: the material can be watched on the Youtube channel of Filjkam Emilia Romagna.
“We are very satisfied with our organization – declares Giuseppe Longo, technical director of the Judo Polisportiva Riccione section -. As always, the effort is well rewarded by the compliments of the numerous participating companies. Unfortunately, as Polisportiva we had only one athlete in the competition who had to give up fighting due to an injury, but this does not matter, because in any case our young athletes were able to attend a high level judo competition and understand that everyone has the right to dream. In the meantime, we received the news that our top athlete, Morgana De Paoli, has been summoned to Piancavallo by the Under 18 National Team, to participate in a preparatory stage for the European Championships “.
