Judo | The veteran from Soria who returned to a tatami 8 years later to win again

Yesterday, the Arriaga sports center hosted the Vitoria-Gasteiz Veterans Judo Cup of Spain. The competition, which began at ten in the morning, was attended by more than 180 participants from all over Spain, as well as international competitors from France and the United Kingdom.

In the case of Castilla y León, the judoka and coach of the Kodokan Judo Club Javier Aguado stepped on a competition mat eight years after his last appearance for them and the result could not have been better. After fighting three fights he was proclaimed champion of the Vitoria Veterans Cup in the -60 kg M2 Category, which gives him access to the Spanish Championship to be played in Pamplona on the first weekend of May.

The competition began very well for the judoka since in less than a minute he managed to get rid of his first rival. Not so with his next two fights, the second was resolved in Golden Score (additional time to combat time) in a highly sought-after action throughout the fight and, the next, in which the gold medal was played and against the current runner-up of the world, he decided on a nice action by Javier marking Wazari and managing the rest of the fight.
