Nippon Sport Science University announced on the 4th that Uta Abe, a 52-kilometer champion of the Tokyo Olympics Judo Women’s class, will join the business group Park 24 in April next year. Her brother 123 is also enrolled in the company with a men’s 66 kg gold medal. “Abe siblings” aim to win the Paris Olympics for the second time in a row two years later with the same affiliation.

21-year-old Abe commented, “I am very pleased to have a wonderful environment and support system in order to fulfill my dream of winning the Paris Olympics for the second time in a row.” According to people familiar with the matter, he will be based at Nippon Sport Science University even after joining the company.

Abe abstained in the semi-finals at the All Japan Selection Weight Championships on the 2nd due to the effects of both shoulder surgery after the Olympics, but was selected as the representative of the World Championships (October, Tashkent) with his brother.
