Kan Judo Olbia qualifies for the final of the National Italian Cup

OLBIA. Kan Judo Olbia resumes competitive activity after two years of forced stop due to the restrictions for the containment of Covid 19. In fact, since December, the courses in the gym have been restarted for children aged 4 and over and then the children and adults, in the historic site in via Perù for a total of eighty members.

As for the competitive competitions, the activity resumed only last weekend with the first participation in a race of some national interest. The regional qualification to access the national final of the Junior Italian Cup took place in Arborea and unified seniors, which will be staged at the end of April at the Palapellicone of the Olympic center of the FIJLKAM in Ostia.

The Olbiese club of Maestro Angelo Calvisi with 5th dan, in Arborerà participated with two athletes, Simone Rosas in the 60 kilos, and Carlo Altana (several times Sardinian champion) in the 66 kilos category. The two athletes performed well in the competition, despite the long absence from the competitive mats. Altana after winning two matches deservedly lost only in the final, finishing in second place, which in any case guarantees him the ticket for the national final. Good race for him who reconfirms the value of the athlete who is facing the new Junior class after the past in the “Cadets”.

Unfortunately nothing to do, however, for Simone Rosas who had to surrender to the greater competitive experience of the opponents, but above all to the obligatory category jump to 60 kg. However, Rosas behaved well, giving his opponents a hard time in the two lost matches. “We are very happy with this result – said Maestro Calvis – who will see Carlo Altana again on the national scene, where we hope he can get some satisfaction in this final at the Olympic center. IL Kan Judo Olbia, this weekend will face a new trip to the peninsula, participating in Genoa at the 32nd City of Colombo Trophy Junior National Grand Prix “and rookie classes and male and female cadets. In the race there will be five athletes who will represent the Olbiese association, in the rookies Diego Langiu and Dennis Canu in the 55 kilos. Jacopo Merone in the 66 kilos, while in the juniors there will be Carlo Altana for the 66 kilos and Simone Rosas in the 55. Accompanied by the technicians Gavino Carta and Angelo Calvisi.
