I am proud to be able to report to Mayor Yoshida as the representative of Japan for the Deaflympics, and I have been able to make good results in each competition and make a good report to everyone. ■ What is the Keiai Challenge Athletes Team?
Based on the philosophy of “the best athlete team in Japan,” we are a para-athlete group that not only overcomes obstacles but also continues to take on challenges aiming for even higher heights. In April 2019, we launched the Keiai Challenge Athletes Team with five athletes with disabilities belonging to our company.
Currently, a total of nine athletes belong to each of the “Def Futsal,” “Def Soccer,” “Deaf Judo,” “Wheelchair Basketball,” and “Wheelchair Badminton,” including Japanese national team players. The KAI Challenge Athletes Team continues high-level training and competition as a top athlete, and is involved in work such as in-house training instructors and product development, as well as holding events and hands-on sessions in various places, Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture. We are actively engaged in educational activities to raise awareness of parasports in collaboration with educational institutions in the prefecture. So far, a total of more than 800 people have experienced parasports, such as holding junior sports competitions in Honjo City and hands-on sessions at schools.
