LA Clippers – Sacramento: Paul George too easy

In a game without stakes, the Clippers won 117-98 against the Kings, and thanks to a very good Paul George, the players of Tyronn Lue quickly took shelter to spend a quiet evening.

A 9-0 that turns into 12-2 with a big address from Paul George and Marcus Morris, and the Kings are already on the ropes. Paul George is already at 14 points at the end of the first quarter, and then it was enough to manage this lead with a real desire to recite their ranges. Well-posed attacks, movement, and the search for the most outstanding player. Like on this three-way action between George, Hartenstein and Covington, and a nice baseline dunk (38-24).

In the second half, Davion Mitchell brought the Kings back below the 10-point gap, and it was Paul George, again, who pulled out all the stops to revive the Clippers.

A caviar for Reggie Jackson in the corner, then a distant 3-pointer, and Los Angeles takes a 15-point lead. Off the bench, Norman Powell drives the point home to pass the gap above 20 points. Final score, 117-98 for the Clippers who sign a 4th victory in a row.

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

– Positive balance. Very complicated season for the Clippers due to the absence of Kawhi Leonard and the injury of Paul George, but they will end the season with a positive balance (41-40). It’s been a habit since 2011.

– Play-in. The Clippers will challenge the Wolves in Minnesota on Tuesday night. If they win, they will face the Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs. In case of defeat, they will face, at home, the winner of the play-off between the Pelicans and the Spurs. It will be Friday.

TOPS/FLOPS

✅ Paul George. Five wins in six games for the Clippers since the return of Paul George. He had a great start to the game, then turned into a playmaker to equal his career high in assists. He was so good that he played 34 minutes. Tyronn Lue has announced that he will be rested tonight.

✅ Norman Powell. The other major injury of the winter also returned to his best level, and he did a lot of damage with the “second unit”. It brings punch.

✅ Davion Mitchell. The rookie was the only one to fight for the entire encounter. Too bad his teammates didn’t follow.

⛔ Harrison Barnes. Can’t wait for the season to end for the former Warriors winger. He had decided to take care of Paul George, and he got eaten.
