One disappointment does not wait for another this season for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. After the California team’s surprise exclusion from playoff contention, James’ campaign is now in jeopardy due to injury.

The holder of four NBA championship rings suffered a sprained ankle in a 116-108 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on March 27. He hasn’t played since.

The Lakers announced on Twitter on Friday that James would miss the remainder of the season to prepare for the upcoming campaign.

Recall that the Phoenix Suns mathematically dismissed the Lakers from the playoffs last Tuesday, inflicting on them a seventh consecutive loss.

“King James” is not to point fingers to explain the setbacks of the team, continuing to dominate the Silver circuit at the age of 37 this season. With an average harvest of 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists, James has remained among the elite of the NBA.
