Lamelo Bols, the new generation star of the National Basketball Association (NBA), remembers an experience in Lithuania in a conversation with the media “Slam”, where he played in the “Prienai” team with his brother Liano in 2018. Basketball fans will remember that it was a big show at the time, as Prienai had left the Baltic Basketball League since Lamelo and Lignello joined to play the test games sponsored by the Bolu family company Big Baller Brand.
“Honestly, after what I experienced in Lithuania, I didn’t care who would draft me into the NBA,” Lamelo said. “When you lie in bed, you turn right, you fall, you turn left – you fall. My leg caviar fell out of bed! That was bad, old man. When I went through it, I didn’t care where I ended up in the NBA. As long as I’m in the US and while water is available, I don’t need anything else. In general, it was crazy – the food was not edible, it was cold outside, there were no friends around. In short, I was imprisoned. I didn’t need much, just the basics and the opportunity to play basketball. I saw this experience as a sacrifice. It was hard mentally and I felt much better since I left. ”
The 20-year-old Bols was selected as the third number in the 2020 draft, and since entering the strongest league on the planet, the American has shown a brilliant performance. This year he was voted in the Star Game, but last year he was named the best debutant of the season. He has averaged 19.9 points, 7.5 assists and 6.7 rebounds this season.
