Gerardo Gutiérrez was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting several girls at a tennis school in the Bronx (NYC).
Police released his photo yesterday, fearing there may be more victims who recognize the suspect. Gutiérrez has been detained since February 15, originally accused of half a dozen counts of sexual abuse of minors. But that number went up to 73 counts after a grand jury indicted him in March, according to police and court records.
Gutierrez (30), who was coach of the after-school program New York Junior Tennis Leagueallegedly sexually abused at least three girls under the age of 12 inside PS 100X between November 2019 and July 2021, according to police.
Judge Steven Barrett set bail at $150,000 when Gutierrez appeared at the arraignment on March 18. At the moment he remains locked up in the “Vernon C. Bain” Correctional Center. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in court.
