Ķekavas Bulldogs / NND cross the “Rubene-1” barrier and will play in the final
“Kekava Bulldogs / NND” has become the second finalist of the ELVI floorball women’s league, which today at Kocēni Sports House with 4:3 beat the team “Rubene-1”, triumphing in the semi-final series with 3: 0, Līga Vancāne scored the decisive goal in favor of Ķekava in the 54th minute.
The first two games of the semi-final series between the teams “Ķekavas Bulldogs / NND” and “Rubene-1” took place in Ķekava. In the first match, in which the Kocēni team had to do without their experienced players, the “Ķekavas Bulldogs / NND” won very convincingly, defeating their young opponents with 14: 3. Already in the second match of the series, the fight turned out to be completely different – the bunches had to eliminate the deficit of three goals (3: 3), but they celebrated the victory only in the post-match throws – 4: 3.
Today the series had moved to “Rubene-1” home – Kocēni sports house. At the very end of the first period, the result of the third game was revealed in the person of housewives Elīna Sirma – 1: 0. In the 26th minute, Elīna Caune reached 2: 0. In the middle of the game, the first goal was scored by the guests – 1: 2, Līga Vancāne stood out with an accurate shot. In the 36th minute, Elīna Dīce restored the draw (2: 2), but after the second third, “Rubene-1” was again in the lead with 3: 2, in which Jolanta Koziņeca threw the right goal. In the last period, the combined team of Kekava and Rigans managed to play. Elīna Štrausa was the scorer in the 42st minute, but Līga Vanaga turned Annas Mūrnieces into the goal in the 54th minute. “Ķekavas Bulldogs” were able to celebrate the victory with 4: 3, triumphing with 3: 0 in the whole series.
Karīna Mičule received the award for the best player in the ranks, but she did not stand out in this match. Two goals in Līga Vancāne’s account, 2 (1 + 1) points in Elīna Dīce’s account, but Anna Mūrniece stood out with two assists. Evelīna Cauni was recognized as the best among Kocēni, who was the most productive with 2 (1 + 1) points. “Ķekavas Bulldogs / NND” has reached the finals, where the current owner of the title “Rubeni” will compete for the championship series. Kocēni “Rubene-1” in one game for bronze medals on the cross sticks with the team “Līgatne”.
