The team of Cēsis “Lekrings” on Friday won one victory from the final of the “Elvi floorball league” men’s tournament. Cēsnieki guests beat Talsi NSS / “Krauzers” team in the post-match series with the result 7: 6 (3: 1, 2: 3, 1: 2, 0: 0, 1: 0) and achieved 3-0 in the semi-final series.
After a minute and a half of play, Artis Raitums caught up with Talsi from 1-0, but in the next 20 minutes, “Lekrings” scored four unanswered goals. The home team played and in the ninth minute of the third period Toms Bitmanis scored 5: 5. Jorens Malkavs quickly recovered one goal, but Raitums equalized the result less than seven minutes before the end of the regular time.
No extra time was scored and the winners were determined in a series of post-match throws, in which Cēsis won 3: 1. Pauls Erenbots, Artūrs Jurševskis and Olafs Zvīnis saved 1 + 1 for the winners in the regular time. Raitums had two goals and three assists, but Bitman had a hat-trick and one ass.
Meanwhile, in the series between Kocēni “Rubene” and “Lielvārde” / ”FatPipe” teams the result is 1-1. 12 teams are competing in the men’s competition this season, but eight units are competing in the women’s competition. The Super Final of the Elvi Floorball Men’s Men’s Tournament will take place on April 15 at Arena Riga.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the 2019/2020 season and the state of emergency declared in the country due to it, the Latvian champions and medalists remained unclear, but the last championship was jerked and with a smaller number of playoffs for the same reason. The teams of Kocēni “Rubene” won in the final in Valmiera.
