Under contract until 2023, Nemanja Matic (33, 17 Premier League games this season) will leave Manchester United this summer. The midfielder announced his departure on Instagram on Friday.
“After careful consideration, I have decided that this season will be my last with Manchester United, wrote the Serb. I have informed the management, the manager and the players of my decision. It has been a great honor and a privilege to playing for this great club. A big thank you to the fans for their unwavering support. I will now give it my all until the end of the season to help my teammates finish as strong as possible.”
Arrived in 2017 from Chelsea, Matic apparently agreed with his managers to break his lease.
