The origins of the collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Virgil Abloh
The basic idea of the project was to create a two-seater, sand-colored, almost seven meters long with a “luxurious and very sophisticated aesthetic capable, however, of meeting the taste for outdoor adventure”. Features of the model include solar panels on the hood, fully reclining seats to enjoy the view through the panoramic roof, and a matching awning to mount on the vehicle when needed. The luxury car was designed by Virgil Abloh together with the head of Mercedes design, Gordon Wagener.
