Mikal Bridges named Defender of the Year against the Pelicans

Mikal Bridges had an excellent series in this first round against the Pelicans but had one of his best career games tonight. Offensively unstoppable, the Suns winger has become one of the best defenders in the NBA since last season and has proven it again in Game 5.

Pelicans players defended by Mikal Bridges must have nightmares after games. Because if the second in the DPOY ranking achieved an offensive masterclass with 31 points at 12/17 shooting, he once again made the match unbearable for the Pelicans players in attack.

On arrival, only 3 baskets were scored out of 17 attempts when he was the main defender on the player taking the shot. With CJ McCollum and Brandon Ingram leading the way, the players who attacked on Bridges last night finish with a 17.65% shooting accumulation in the loss.

On the series, New Orleans only shoots 36% and has already lost 12 balls when Bridges defends. Additionally, Mikal Bridges broke his career block high with 4 blocks last night and is averaging 1.8 blocks on the streak.
