NEW YORK — The Basketball Without Borders program will be held in Mexico from May 16-19, the NBA and FIBA announced Friday.
The event will be held at La Loma Centro Deportivo, the NBA Academy’s Latin American headquarters, in San Luis Potosi.
It will be the 11th Basketball Without Borders of the Americas.
The program will bring together over 60 of the best high school aged boys and girls from Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.
They will learn from current and former NBA and FIBA players, legends and coaches, in addition to competing against their peers.
There will also be workshops on wider life skills, as well as others on leadership and community involvement.
BWB has been part of the careers of Pascal Siakam (Raptors) and Joel Embiid (Sixers), as well as Canadians Luguentz Dort (Thunder), Jamal Murray (Nuggets) and RJ Barrett (Knicks), among several other players.
The NBA and FIBA have held 62 such camps in 30 countries since 2001.
