The newspaper The confidential made revelations on Monday concerning the case of the liver transplant ofEric Abidal. The Spanish media explains that after having carried out biological analyses, the Spanish National Institute of Toxicology would have concluded that there was nothing to confirm that the former defender of FC Barcelona is really from the family of his supposed cousin Gérard Armand, l man who donated part of his liver to her in 2012.
Since 2017, the Catalan police have been investigating this transplant, which they find suspicious. The 42-year-old Frenchman is not the only former member of Barça to be at the heart of the Spanish justice investigation for organ trafficking since the investigators are also working on Sandro Rosell, the former president of the Barcelona club as well as on former technical adviser Juanjo Castillo.
