The Los Angeles Rams have granted quarterback Matthew Stafford a four-year contract extension.
Stafford signed a deal that will earn him $160 million, including $135 million guaranteed.
The 34-year-old Stafford threw for 4,886 yards and 41 touchdowns in his first season with the Rams.
The deal comes just over a month since Stafford led the Rams to a 23-20 Super Bowl LVI win over the Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium.
The quarterback added 1,188 yards and nine touchdowns in the playoffs.
He had one of the most impressive first years by a quarterback in recent NFL history. After a dozen years in Detroit, Stafford has proven to be the solution to most of the Rams’ offensive problems after landing last spring along with Sean McVay, Cooper Kupp and teammates who have turned their consistent and effective play up to in their second Super Bowl appearance in four seasons.
The quarterback guided the Rams to their first championship since Kurt Warner did so in 1999 when the team was based in St. Louis.
