The Buccaneers will induct Bruce Arians into their Ring of Honor

A couple of days ago, at 69 years of age, Bruce Arians announced his retirement as a coach in the NFL, setting aside his position as head coach of the Buccaneerswhom he managed between 2019 and 2021. However, just three seasons were enough for him to leave his indelible mark on the franchise, managing to win Super Bowl LV against the Chiefs, and registering an overall record of 31-18 at the helm of the equipment.

Therefore, as every effort has its reward, Arians will be inducted into the Tampa Bay Ring of Honor, the owner of the Buccaneers confirmed this Thursday at a press conference, Joel Glazerwho commented that Arians will be inducted into the Tampa Bay Ring of Honor at Raymond James Stadium this coming fall: “Without a doubt, he is someone who deserves to go straight into the Ring of Honor for what he has done for this franchise, what he represents. as a leader in the NFL.

In this regard, Arians, who had no idea that the announcement was coming, noted: “That was a bit of a shock. I had no intention of getting emotional, but that got to me. You do things in life, and they reward you with something like that that never goes away, and it’s huge. It’s huge for our family and now I’m looking forward to the day.”

It is not yet clear what week of the 2022 season Arians will be inducted into the Buccaneers Ring of Honor, but it is safe to say that he will become the 14th member of the Ring, albeit only the fourth coach on the list, joining the former head coaches John McKay (1976-1984) and Tony Dungy (1996-2001), and former defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin (1996-2008). Does Bruce Arians deserve this appointment to the Ring of Honor?

Antonio Brown will not intervene his ankle until he finds a new team

The 2021 WR Season Antonio Brown came to an infamous end leaving MetLife Stadium in the middle of a game with the Buccaneers against the Jets. Since then, controversy has been created, because Brown is not healthy and has maintained for several weeks that he requires surgery on the ankle. The offseason continues and Brown, who is currently a free agent, has not yet intervened in his mishap, and apparently he will not if he is not first signed by a new team.

Through TMZ.comBrown said Thursday: “I need my ankle fixed, but I want to make sure I have an obligation or a commitment to a team. It’s a lot for a man to go through surgery with no idea where he’s going to work or who he’s going to work for. I am a player first. I couldn’t even be in this position without being a football player. So (…) I would love to continue my career. There is a lot of game left in me.”

Brown, who recorded 42 receptions for 545 yards and 4 TDs the previous year, has made it clear that he wants to continue his professional career, however, he practically ruled out an eventual return to Tampa Bay: “I don’t think it’s a possibility … how do you they handled things, how they handled me with regards to the injury. They just couldn’t use me for my worth, my true worth. But I am grateful for the opportunity, (…) I made the most of it.”

Despite his statements, Brown’s future remains unknown. It is true that last season was functional in the Buccaneers’ offensive system, however, the episode he starred in could deprive him of a new opportunity within the league, although in the end, and as has been made clear on numerous occasions, very often talent comes to have more weight than an off-field scandal. Does Antonio Brown deserve another chance in the NFL?

Noah Fant: “The way the Broncos used me was a little frustrating”

At trade held in early March between Denver and Seattle, where QB Russell Wilson landed on the Broncosone of the several pieces in return received by the Seahawks it was the TE Noah Fant, who had come to Denver as a first-round pick in the 2019 Draft with very high expectations that he would contribute to the team’s passing game. However, Fant’s stay with the organization lasted only three years and he did not hesitate to describe his time with the Broncos “A little frustrating”:

“Yeah, I mean, I agree. I feel like when I came into the league, that’s what I was drafted for. [aportar en el juego aéreo]”, commented Fant this Thursday, through 104.3 The Fan. “Go down the field, make those explosive plays, and be that kind of tight end that catches deliveries. During my time in Denver, I felt like that narrative got a little confused.”

“It was more of a focus of me catching whatever it was and then trying to be a sneaky, slippery guy and trying to break up as many tackles as possible to generate my yards. I see myself as a downfield threat, getting open spaces, then I can make things happen. It was a little frustrating being used at shortstop,” Fant concluded.

During his three seasons in the league, all with the Broncos, Fant had 170 receptions for 1,905 yards and 10 TDs. The 2022 season will be played in Seattle, who currently have Drew Lock as their starting quarterback. Fant hasn’t had a chance to catch passes from a superstar and it looks like he’ll still have to wait for it in order to improve his numbers. Can Noah Fant become a key element in Seattle’s offense next year?

Colts: “Matt Ryan is what the franchise needs”

A new era is approaching for Colts. The organization had a hole to fill at quarterback after Carson Wentz’s departure to the Commanders. The replacement was quickly present when a couple of weeks ago in Indianapolis acquired QB Matt Ryan, from Atlanta. And the owner of the Colts, Jim Irsaywas clear that said move was the right one and hopes it will bear fruit for the team in the near future:

“I firmly believe that Matt is what the franchise needs,” Irsay said, via Joel A. Erickson of the Indianapolis Star. “I really think we have a chance, and he’s young enough to win a world championship with him. We feel like we have that ability.” At 36 years old, it’s not that Ryan is incredibly young, but it’s also not undeniable that he’s still putting up decent numbers.

During the 2021 season, Ryan threw for 3,968 total yards, 20 TDs and 12 INTs in a very limited Falcons offense. Ryan has not been selected Pro Bowler since he was awarded the NFL MVP in 2016, suggesting that, although his best times are already a thing of the past, he still has the potential to put the Colts in the Playoffs and maybe fight for something else. How far will Indianapolis go next season under Matt Ryan?

The Seahawks leave the door open for Carlos Dunlap

In more NFL news, from an economic standpoint, the 2022 Free Agency of the Seahawks was boosted when a couple of weeks ago they dispensed with the services of the DE Carlos Dunlapcreating $5.1 million cap space by designating the release as a post-June 1 cutoff.

Despite the above, that doesn’t mean Dunlap’s time in Seattle is over. This Thursday it was confirmed that the organization has left the doors open for a possible return towards the incoming campaign: “We keep the door open to bring him back because he is a good pass rusher,” said the GM John Schneidervia Bob Condotta’s Seattle Times.

Dunlap, 33, came into the league as the Bengals’ second-round pick in the 2010 Draft, and stayed in Cincinnati for nearly 11 seasons. In October 2020 he was sent via trade to Seattle, and during his so far short tenure with the franchise he totaled 35 tackles and 13.5 sacks. Should the Seahawks bring back Carlos Dunlap for next season?
