The Indianapolis Colts lead the NFL with seven Pro Bowl selections. The league announced its selections Wednesday night.
The Colts had three players selected on offense (running back Jonathan Taylor, center Ryan Kelly, guard Quenton Nelson), three on defense (tackler DeForest Buckner, linebacker Darius Leonard, cornerback Kenny Moore II) and one on special teams (long snap specialist Luke Rhodes).
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has been selected for the 15e times, a record. Brady shared the 14-cap mark with Peyton Manning, Bruce Matthews, Merlin Olsen and Tony Gonzalez.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers trailed the Colts with six selections apiece. Each team will be represented by its quarterback, Patrick Mahomes for the Chiefs and Justin Herbert for the Chargers. The other AFC quarterback is Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens. It was Herbert who got the starting position, he who is playing a 2e season in the NFL.
The Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers had the most players drafted among NFC teams with five each.
The NFC quarterbacks are starter Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers, Tom Brady of Tampa Bay and Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals.
This season’s game will take place on February 6 in Las Vegas. The lists are determined by a vote of fans, players and coaches.
Thirty-one players have been selected for their first Pro Bowl, including four rookies: Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts, Chargers tackle Rashawn Slater and Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons.
Six teams were not selected: the Broncos, Lions, Texans, Jaguars, Giants and Jets.
