Much is still unclear in the Becker case. The closing arguments have been held and the trial at Southwark Crown Court in London is in its final phase. But it is not yet possible to say when a decision will be made as to whether Boris Becker has concealed assets such as real estate, accounts and important trophies in the insolvency proceedings. So is he really facing seven years in prison, the maximum sentence? Or will the jury show mercy on the 24 counts?

In the end, the judge decides and sets the sentence. Boris Becker is powerless. His mother, 86 years old, seems to have trouble with it. As Elvira Becker now reports in an interview with “Bild”, she is following the process very closely. “Every day! Boris is my son,” she replies when asked how detailed she is keeping an eye on the matter.

Boris Becker’s new girlfriend supports him

In her house in Leimen, she currently watches a lot of television, reads the newspaper and follows the news on the Internet, as she reports. Maybe that’s why the mother of the former tennis star says: “I’m a little afraid of what’s coming.” She cannot make a prognosis about the verdict. You see how it “turns out”, says Elvira Becker only.

However, she was not devastated by the negotiations about her son. The 86-year-old is brave and explains: “I don’t need any moral support.” Boris Becker, on the other hand, does. He appeared in court in recent days with his son Noah and his partner Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro, which is apparently his mainstay at the moment.

He also gets in touch with his mother from time to time. “My son calls me more often. He calms me down,” said Elvira Becker in an interview with the tabloid. And at the end she apparently declared combative: “I stand by Boris! No matter what happens – he is and will always be my son.”
