Judo, Grand Slam Antalya 2022: Odette Giuffrida third in the 52 kg

Nice third place of Odette Giuffrida in Antalya (Turkey), where the Grand Slam event has started, with 525 athletes from 63 nations present. The blue won the podium in the women’s 52 kg category, thanks to the victory in the consolation final over the Mongolian Khorloodoi Bishrelt at the golden score. Previously Giuffrida, silver in Rio 2016 and bronze in Tokyo 2020, had been defeated in the semifinals by Uzbek Diyora Keldiyorova, who is flanked by the Italian in the world ranking.
As for the other blues involved today, Angelo Pantano finished seventh in the 60 kg after the defeat in the quarter-finals against Yung Wei Yang, judoka from Taipei. Defeats at the debut instead for Sofia Petitto (48 kg), Miriam Boi (57 kg), Elios Manzi (66 kg). Stop to the second round instead for Giulia Carna (52 kg) and Mattia Miceli (66 kg).
