In the morning, it was possible to go cycling and mountain biking, on registration, from 8:45 a.m. Three routes were on the program, ranging from 18 to 51 kilometers, depending on the level of each. At 9:30 a.m., trail running, hiking and Nordic walking began, on routes of 7 or 12.5 kilometers. In total, about 450 people took turns on the starting line.
Among them, Florent, Marc and Ludovic, who came for the 30-kilometre mountain bike ride: “We cycle a lot on the weekends, so we took the opportunity to meet up with other cyclists we know. It was friendly, with a good atmosphere and more than two hours of effort. Coming from Coulounieix-Chamiers and Vergt, the three friends braved the freezing temperatures to exercise and have a good time.
More than 20 sports to discover
A drink of friendship, as well as a country meal followed to launch the bulk of the day. From 1:30 p.m., the free entertainment began. It was then possible to learn, among other things, quad biking, archery, boomerang, climbing or even rifle shooting, golf and fly fishing. Different unusual activities that delighted young and old.
Christophe Sanchez, director of the Boulazac sports department, was satisfied with this event: “This is the 8th edition after two cancellations due to the health crisis. This year, the themes are sharing and conviviality and it is a great success. “There were nearly 4,000 people in the last editions. About 2,000 were expected this time, due to the unusual coolness of this Sunday in April. This did not prevent the inhabitants of Boulazac and the surrounding towns from taking advantage of this day and changing their minds.
