Oud Meppel will open its doors to the public again after three months. Among other things, there is an exhibition about sports club BC Meppeler Meppers.

After the first phase of the recovery of the Netherlands after the Second World War, there was a great need for sports. To do this in a club, people could only go to the traditional sports associations and with a number of soul mates they organized competitions in small gymnasiums. In the seventies there were two small clubs that were interested in the game of badminton and after a few good conversations the badminton club Meppeler Meppers was founded.

Last year the association celebrated its 50th anniversary with a late party due to cancellations due to corona. A rich sporting history passed in review with veterans. Oud Meppel has given the association the opportunity to show an extensive exhibition of more than fifty years of badminton.

The exhibition can be viewed from 7 April to 8 July on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons from 13.00 to 16.30 at Sluisgracht 21 in Meppel.
