She is said to have played this to a newspaper through her agent Caroline Watt. Drinkwater is under contract with Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea FC but is currently on loan to second division club Reading.

The allegation was made in court documents filed in Rebekah Vardy’s defamation lawsuit against England legend Wayne Rooney’s wife, Coleen Rooney, 36, according to the Daily Star.

Coleen’s attorney, David Sherborne, said the example showed a “widespread practice of leaking information to the press” by Vardy and Watt.

Spicy: Wayne Rooney and Rebekah’s husband Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) are former teammates. However, there has been a bitter dispute between the women for a long time.

Current excitement: Rebekah is suing Coleen over her allegations that Rebekah leaked details of her personal life. Coleen had set her up by allegedly blocking all of her Instagram followers except Rebekah, yet details of her private posts had surfaced in the English press.

The case will be heard in the High Court on May 9.
