Prize athletes in Siero

The Auditorium Theater of La Pola welcomed the sports gala in which the trajectory of 45 individual athletes and 6 clubs representing some 14 sports modalities and of which 22 are men and 23 women were recognized.

The appointment, which returned after the stoppage forced by the pandemic, also included three special prizes that went to Jose Ramon Diaz Masedapresident of the Asturian Federation of Judo and Associated Sports, El Berron CF y Women’s Cycling in Siero. These awards recognize people, leaders or clubs that have stood out in the municipality.

The Municipal Sports Board (PDM) was in charge of contacting the Asturian sports federations to request the sending of the merits of the past year that, at a minimum, should be a gold medal in the Asturias championships, having finished among the top three in the national championships or among the top five in international championships. Likewise, the ages of the winners range from the mini and children’s categories to veterans.

Thus, for his results at the international level he was awarded Mario Sanchez Medrado, archery, third in the European Youth Cup Bucharest for mixed outdoor junior compound bow teams.

Martial Arts

At the national level, Martial Arts were the disciplines that obtained the most achievements last year. Sergio Díaz Fernández, runner-up in Spain in Junior Judo +100 kg; and the couple formed by Mario Corujo Prado and Esteban Díaz Martínez, runners-up in Spain in Katas in the Kime no Kata modality, were awarded for their merits in judo. In karate, the awards went to Esther Cabo Molleda, third in the Cup of Spain Kata Open Styles; Andrea Feo Cabo, runner-up in Spain in junior kumite; Víctor Feo Cabo, runner-up in the Spanish Kata Cadet Styles Cup; María Hevia Alonso, champion of the Spanish Cup Kata Alevín Styles; Itzel García Cimadevilla, runner-up in the Cup of Spain Cadet Kata Styles; Eloy Roces Lagranda, eighth dan of karate and Ana Hevia Alonso, third in the Spanish Youth Kata Styles Cup. And in sambo, Sofía Blanco Alonso received an award for her third place in the Spanish Championship -54kg and Lucía García Galán for her second place in the Spanish Championship -72kg.

Athletics

On the other hand, in athletics the winners were Paula Álvarez del Valle, champion of Spain sub14 in triathlon E and 2 km walk; Sofía García Campo, runner-up in Spain sub-16 cross-country team; Jorge Prida Parajón, runner-up in Spain outdoors in shot put; Mohamed Bakkali, champion of Spain for clubs in the Division of Honor and Alejandro Onís, runner-up in Spain in the 3000 meter dash under 23 on the indoor track.

Cycling

There was also a large representation in cycling with Lucía González Blanco, Spanish Cyclocross champion, Lorena Pérez Hevia, third in the Spanish Individual Time Trial Road Cycling Championship; Iván Muñiz Cimadevilla, third in the Spanish Time Trial Championship and the also mayor of Siero Aida Nuño Palacio, runner-up in Spain in Cyclocross.

Motor

In the motor world, Adrián Fueyo Díaz was recognized for his Spanish championship for Regularity Rally Co-drivers for Historic Vehicles; Pablo Gutiérrez Solís was awarded as runner-up in the Spanish Motocross category MX125 and MXS18; and Daniel Castellanos Barros for his third place in the Copa de España de MX Clásico 80 Evo.

And in other disciplines, they took the stage Cira Alvarez Nuno for the 300-meter sprint championship of the Spanish Alevín Cup of speed skating; Lucia Medero Garcia as champion of Spain 3,000 meters children’s track; and the Siero Kayak Clubrunner-up in the Spanish Marathon Championship in the category of veterans by teams.

On the other hand, at the regional level, the athletes Raúl Filloy de Miguel, Marta Filloy de Miguel, the Club Ciudad de Lugones, the Peña Bolística El Chalupu, the Peña Bolística El Arenal, the bowlers Diego Lastra Díaz, Adrián Morán Álvarez and Alejandro Nuño Gómez; the cyclists Samuel Fernández García, María Teresa López García and Mateo Martínez Tapia; the Romanón B Juvenile Sports Club, the Siero Futsal School; the gymnasts Paula Gómez Jardón, María Pérez Cueva, Alba Chápuli García; golfers Pablo González González and Gabriel Hincianu; the judokas Miguel Sánchez Álvarez, Ignacio Hovan Rojas, María Rodríguez García, Estefanía Bravo and Laura Gutiérrez Cañedo; the pilots Ariel Rodríguez Rebolledo, Álvaro Vidal García and Cleo Marron Díaz; and the skater Alba Álvarez Nuño.

During the gala, the Club Fit Kid Asturias offered several demonstrations of Fit Kid, a new sports modality in Asturias introduced with activities in Lugones and La Fresneda.
