The finals of the Coupe de France minimes took place at the dome of Villebon-sur-Yvette in the Paris region. For this national event, the best French minims were there. Among them, two qualified judokas from the COC judo de Cabestany: Faustine Corcoy in the under 44 kg category and Elie Boyunga Bokuluta over 73 kg. The pressure was high for these two youngsters. Previously, Faustine had ranked 3rd in Occitania last February and Elie obtained the title of champion of Occitania. Faustine was also ranked 2nd at the international mini tournament of Saint-Cyprien in February.
In Villebon, Faustine immediately entered the competition by winning her two pool fights, which allowed her to reach the final table. His first place in pool gave him the opportunity to skip the 32nd finals and go directly to 16th; a fight she won by ippon. His round of 16 was going to be more complicated. Despite her attacks and her blatant domination, she did not manage to score and on a hand fault at the end of the fight, the victory, although questionable, was going to escape her. Elie’s competition will be more complicated. In chicken, he loses his first fight and wins the second. His opponents do the same. The three fighters reached the final table. Elie wins his 32nd final, but unfortunately in 16th, a relaxation deprives him of going further in the competition. The COC judo and its president Ludovic Cabaribère greet the two young judokas and wish them continued progress. The coaches, Jean Barcelo and Dorian Laversin assure them of their support and are at their side to accompany them in their work.
