PSG-Lorient: the CUP will remain silent

While the reception of Bordeaux, four days after the elimination of PSG by Real Madrid, had been an opportunity for the Parisian ultras to express their anger with banners, a partial strike from the stands and especially whistles at the against Neymar and Lionel Messi, we expected the welcome that would be reserved for the Parisians this Sunday against Lorient. Three weeks have passed since this match with the icy atmosphere and, since then, Paris has lost heavily to Monaco (3-0).

Already, on Wednesday, during the Women’s Champions League match, the CUP had unfurled a banner: “Present but not amnesic”, which did not prevent it from supporting from start to finish and intensely the Parisiennes who finally clinched their place in the semi-finals.

This Saturday, the Collectif Ultras Paris finally publicly announced its position. As he has already argued, he believes that the club needs a new breath which passes, in his eyes, “necessarily by a new organization chart”.

Believing that the discussions with the club do not yet lead to sufficient progress, the CUP advances: “we will continue to express our dissatisfaction in the stands and this, without violence. We will therefore be present, but silent because they do not deserve better”.

Earlier in the day, Mauricio Pochettino had hoped for a kind of sacred union to allow his players to evolve in a favorable context. “Beyond the emotions that we all have, the frustration of elimination in the Champions League or having lost in Monaco, the important thing is to be all together, for the good of our club, of all those who love PSG, he assured. It’s time to come together around a common goal: to win the tenth title. For that we need our best players, in their best form, that the club supports the team. With our supporters, it will be much easier. If they bring us what they are capable of transmitting, it will be much easier to win the match and therefore the title. »
