The state team obtained four tickets for the national fair that will take place in Baja California and sub-venues during the months of May and June.
While some go out to compete this weekend, four Quintana Roo athletes from the Badminton discipline return home after getting the ticket to the CONADE 2022 National Games during the Qualifying Tournament that took place in Aguascalientes.
Among the athletes who secured their place in the national fair are Diego Castro classified in singles and doubles in the Sub 17 category, Maximiliano Barreto in doubles Sub 17, Isabel Meling in Sub 15, as well as Patricio Meling in mixed doubles.
Diego Castro made the ticket after beating the representative from Chihuahua in two sets with similar partials of 21-12, then accounted for the Guanajuato athlete 21-12 and 21-19 and finally defeated the Michoacan national team with a score of 21- 18 and 21-19.
In the men’s doubles category, Diego Castro and Maximiliano Barreto did the same, beating the duet from Nayarit by 21-12 and 21-12 and sealed the classification after beating the hosts in three fierce sets.
Quintana Roo get medals in National Selective Shotgun

The twins Patricio and Isabel Meling got the pass in mixed doubles category Sub 15, after beating the representatives of Veracruz, San Luis Potosí and Mexico City. Although they fell against Jalisco.
According to coach Alejandro Orozco, the national competition registered a participation record with more than 240 entries from Baja California, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guerrero, CDMX, State of Mexico, San Luis Potosí , Morelos, Nayarit, Veracruz, Yucatán, UNAM and of course Quintana Roo.
