This is how Schalke rises again!
The Pott-Klub stormed against Heidenheim to a 3-0, achieved the fourth win in the fourth game with interim coach Mike Büskens (54) and initially moved to the top of the table.
Schalke samurai Itakura makes the decision. After a Drexler pass, the Japanese national player beats Heidenheimer Mohr and Theuerkauf and scores to make it 2-0 (52nd). A dream goal!
Before that, Schalke is having a hard time. Also Uru-driver Zalazar (back after bruised foot) does not bring any creativity into the static game in the 1st half.
Instead Heidenheim with the first big chance. Goalkeeper Fraisl defused a cracker from Schöppner and the follow-up shot from Kleindienst, preventing a quick deficit (9th).
Schalke’s lead comes as a complete surprise: Heidenheim’s Hüsing wants to head a high Bülter ball out of the penalty area, but extends it to Drexler, who heads in to make it 1-0 (35′).
Even after Itakura’s 2-0, Schalke doesn’t really play confidently and is lucky that the Cologne basement doesn’t give a cool-weather hit because of offside.
Celebrating 57000 blessed fans. Only the 1:1 between St. Pauli and Werder, which brings Schalke to the top. Then Terodde made it 3-0 (90+5) – his 22nd goal of the season.
