Scottie Scheffler, the new master of world golf

Forty-two days separated Scottie Scheffler’s first tournament victory (in Phoenix, February 6) from his rise to world No. 1 on March 28. Thirteen sleeps later, the 25-year-old American won his first Major, in Augusta, on Sunday evening. At the heart of the golden hour, those suspended moments when the setting sun caresses the last shivers of a divine week, his four feverish putts on the 18th green remained anecdotal, so comfortable was his lead. After her fourth title in two months, she is even more so in the world rankings, which he largely dominates and probably for a long time.
