Slapping scandal at junior tournament: Michael Kouame hits opponent Raphael Nii Ankrah in the face at the net

Michael Kouame, seeded number one at the ITF junior tournament in Accra, waited patiently after his close 2: 6, 7: 6 (7: 5), 6: 7 (5: 7) defeat against local hero Raphael Nii Ankrah (Ghana). Net and even shook his opponent’s hand briefly before slapping Nii Ankrah in the face.

The Ghanaian retreated a few steps after the resounding slap in the face, completely perplexed. The cause of Kouame’s freak out is completely uncertain.

The scandal was followed by heated scenes, at the end of which a man who had run onto the pitch hit Kouame on the back.
