Sparta – Ostrava 2: 1, Sparta defeated Ostrava after a turnaround

The Spartans did not succumb to the Slezanians in the highest competition in the tenth duel in a row. At home in the league, they have been beaten for the eighth time in a row since August 2014. Ostrava did not win four rounds in a row and did not score outside the league after 10 matches and for the first time since last August. The teams will compete again for the title in the superstructure group.

Sparta started actively, but it was the guests who scored in the eighth minute. Fleišman centered from the corner flag, Svozil jumped over Höjer and gave Heč a chance with his head. The Ostrava stopper scored the first league goal since December 2020.

The home team tried to get a quick response in the excellent atmosphere created by 15,205 spectators. Hložek’s shot went to Fleišman on the pole and Čvančar hit the same place from the stop.

In the 16th minute, the Letna team leveled. Čvančara headed into the crossbar, but the prompt Hložek was not wrong in the immediate vicinity and rejoiced in the seventh goal in the season of the highest competition.

The pace of the game then slowed down a bit, but Baník could take the lead back in the 33rd minute. Almási leaned into Kuzmanovič’s center from the first, but he caught Heč with 13 hits by the best league scorer of the year.

At the end of the opening act, the Prague team added to the intensity again and the reward was their second goal. Höjer’s long-range shot was blocked by one of the visiting players on the corner, from which Sparta made a turn. Baník’s goalkeeper Laštůvka ran out, but did not reach the ball due to the crowd of players, and Wiesner headed exactly to the abandoned goal after Dočkal’s center. Extreme Back is one of the shooters for the second time this league.

After the change of sides, the score did not change, although the Spartans created a considerable number of chances. On the other hand, Baník did not threaten Heč at all in the second act.

At the beginning of the second half, Pešek threw Laštůvka, but the ball ended over the goal. Svozil nearly knocked Höjer’s shot from an angle into his own net. Another pass from the Danish defender failed in the lime to Hložek, who improved his shooting position, but Fleišman kicked his ground attempt on the goal line. Čvančara did not succeed from the angle either. The alternating Pulkrab did not reach Dočkal’s passport in front of the goal and Laštůvka managed to get Hanck’s shot on the ground.

Sparta under coach Vrba did not lose in 22 matches at home in the league (of which 20 victories) and this season they gained 38 out of a total of 60 points.
