The Swiss duel of the quarter-finals of the tournament Lugano ChallengerFriday, between Leandro Reedi (ATP 590) and Marc-Andrea Hüsler (ATP 183) turned to the advantage of the first who won 6-2 7-6 (7/4). In hot moments, the 20-year-old from Zurich managed his nerves better than his 25-year-old cantonal compatriot, saving for example the 4 break points he had to defend. In the semi-finals, Riedi will face Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert (ATP 134) who beat Romanian Marius Copil (ATP 257) 2-6 6-4 6-6.

The beautiful adventure is revenge over for Jérôme Kym (ATP 1025). The 19-year-old Argovian, out of qualifying, was eliminated in the quarterfinals by the 18-year-old Italian Luca Nardi (ATP 297) in three sets and 2 hours 7 of play, 6-4 3-6 6-7 (7/9). After a first set where Kym gave no break point to his opponent and converted the only one he had at his disposal, the second set was less fortunate for the Swiss who lost efficiency on his first serve ball. In the last set, neither player managed to break (2 chances each) and the Italian won the match on his third match point.

Kym consoled himself in the evening by qualifying for the doubles final alongside Riedi. Both men overcame the pair of American Hunter Resse and Dutchman Sem Verbeek 6-4 6-4.
