A special Trainer B advanced training course for the Dan examiners took place on March 5th, 2022 in the beautiful and sun-drenched dojo of JC Arashi Dresden. Although the training mainly served the professional development of the group, President Frank Nitzel and René Liesebach took the opportunity to thank Norbert Fahrig, holder of the 6th Dan, for his work as a teaching and examination officer. Norbert resigned from his position as a consultant in February and temporarily handed over the baton to René Liesebach, who will be up for election for this position in May.
Norbert has strongly shaped the judo landscape in Saxony in relation to the department for teaching and examinations. In an acknowledgment, Frank and René referred to it again.
Klaus Büchler, holder of the 7th Dan, was also officially dismissed as Dan examiner on this day and he was thanked for his many years of good work. Klaus was also a kata adjudicator for a long time and always worked tirelessly on the tatami. As with Norbert, he was distinguished by his high level of professional competence as an expert in the field of catapults.
After that, all participants started an interesting day, which focused on information about the forthcoming new grading system of the DJB and the forthcoming reorientation in the Dan examination system. Ulrich Häßner looked at judo self-defence with the participants as part of the optional Dan examination content and led an interesting technical discussion with everyone. With his partner Anne Dörner, who was deployed for the day, he presented these self-defense techniques in practice. At this point, once again, a big thank you to both of them.
Norbert presented special technical principles, demonstrated the Kodokan Goshin Jutsu and lectured on analogies to judo.
René, who was introduced again that day as a co-opted teaching and examination officer, spoke about the plans and organization of the next forthcoming Dan examinations.
All in all, a nice and rich event that the association was able to offer its coaches again.
