For the first time since April 2001, Roger Federer no longer occupies 1st place in the Swiss Tennis Ranking, which is published twice a year. The 40-year-old from Basel is dethroned by Henri Laaksonen.
Due to the prolonged absence of Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka due to injury, their national rankings were frozen at the end of March 2022, explains Swiss Tennis. Both players have therefore been removed from the new national ranking. They will reinstate it as soon as new results are recorded.
Among the ladies, it is Jil Teichmann who leads the way. The left-handed Zealander is ahead of the Olympic champion Belinda Bencic, yet better ranked in the WTA.
