The festival of laughter returns to Rochefort for a 41st edition and finally without sanitary measures. Humor will be in the spotlight with a good twenty comedians on stage from May 11 to 28.
Rochefort is putting on its city of laughter costume from May 11th. For this return to the boards, without health restrictions, the public will find several comedians accustomed to the Rochefortois festival, but also new ones like Guillermo Guiz. He will perform for the first time in Rochefort with his show Next.
The FIRR is also an opportunity for young comedians to prove themselves on stage thanks to the Tremplin du rire. They will face professionals and the public from May 25 to 27. Among these emerging comedians, we find Tristan Lucas and Sofia Belabbes. In addition, the festival has decided to allow more young comedians to make themselves known through the boaters’ tour. It will start in September 2022:
The idea is to program, under the FIRR label, emerging FWB comedians in various places far from the traditional FWB distribution poles. Prior to the tour, these artists will be coached individually and collectively by a guest artist: Marc Andréini. In order to ensure the continuity of the coaching, each artist will benefit from an individual follow-up after each performance. We had already done a similar concept, but we were limited to rooms in Rochefort. This time, the comedians will go everywhere in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
The side of the festival:
- The Carrefour BD takes place on Thursday, May 26 (Ascension).
- The famous Village du Rire which promises frenzied evenings every weekend and public holidays (13, 14, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28/05).
- The Rendez-vous des Confréries Gastronomiques du Namurois, on the last Saturday of the festival, May 28, where folklore and local specialties go hand in hand.
- La Balade du Rire à vélo: on Saturday 21 May, Pays de Famenne in collaboration with the FIRR will organize a 9 km family bike ride punctuated with fun stops: run theatre, magic, clowning and local ravito.
- Kid’s Day in Malagne: on Sunday May 22, Malagne – Archéoparc will put children in the spotlight during a day under the sign of entertainment: magic show, archery, approach animals
