With the end of the school year on the horizon, the School Sports seasons promoted by the Provincial Sports Schools are coming to an end. Thus, the Frontón Segovia and the Pedro Delgado pavilion hosted this past weekend the provincial finals of a good part of the disciplines that can be practiced from these Schools.
Several hundred minors of categories between pre benjamín and juvenile congregated on Saturday at the Frontón Segovia and on Sunday at the Pedro Delgado participated in the different finals with successes distributed between the capital and the province. Chess, racquetball, cross country, basketball, handball, volleyball and futsal were resolved on Saturday with the postponement of tennis, due to weather conditions. Table tennis and badminton were left for Sunday. Among those in the capital, once again the Claret school accounted for an important part of the successes, with its results in Volleyball, Cross Country and Badminton or Table Tennis being especially outstanding.
San Rafael triumphs in Table Tennis
Among the provincial participations in the finals held on Saturday and Sunday, that of the San Rafael Table Tennis players stood out. Not in vain, the champions of prebenjamín and benjamín, both female and male, came from the town of Espinariega; as well as the winners in the juvenile and children’s category finals by teams.
In Badminton, on the other hand, Carbonero el Mayor managed to win in the youngest and youngest women and in the youngest men, while the San Rafael team won in the youngest men and the Cantimpalos team did the same in the youngest women.
