Everything ready for a new sporting event in our capital. The FISU América 3×3 returns after two years of suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) and will be held in Lima. The most important international university basketball championship in the region will be held from July 17 to 23.
The official announcement will be made on April 19 at the facilities of the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL) on campus 2, located at Avenida La Fontana 750, La Molina.
The press conference will include the participation of representatives from the San Ignacio de Loyola University, the University Sports Federation of Peru (FEDUP) and the International Federation of University Sports (FISU) America.
It should be noted that the study center will be the venue and organizer of the fourth FISU. The tournament will take place at the Center for High Academic, Sports and Research Performance of USIL, in Pachacámac.
This championship will have great relevance since the winner of the tournament will qualify for the 3×3 University Basketball World Cup, which will take place in Xiamen – People’s Republic of China.
Previous FISU America 3×3
The 3×3 international university basketball championship was organized for the first time in 2017. The University of La Matanza, located in Argentina, was the first to bring together 14 institutions.
In 2018 the tournament was organized in the city of Santa Tecla in El Salvador and had a total of 17 teams from nine countries. The last FISU America 3×3 was in the city of Maceió in Brazil, where 23 institutions participated, with 10 men’s teams and 13 women’s teams, from 7 countries.
