The indoor practice field completed in Yokohama is like a “secret base” A dream of a boy baseball companion becoming an adult | Full-Count

“BAY SIDE LINE” in Kohoku Ward, Yokohama, where Rhapsword is also introduced

There is an indoor baseball practice field that just opened in Yokohama in February 2022. “BAY SIDE LINE” operated by “tsuzuki BASE” that supports baseball equipment and players. It is a membership facility that has also introduced the latest equipment “Rhapsword” that analyzes pitches and hits. The representative is from the prestigious high school baseball club, and the designer is the older brother of that famous female pitcher. The founding members were local youth baseball teammates about 20 years ago. There was a bond between baseball in this place.

There is an eye-catching building like a live house in the area where distribution warehouses and factories are gathered in Kohoku Ward, Yokohama City. “BAY SIDE LINE” is an indoor practice field specializing in baseball. People living in the metropolitan area will feel uncomfortable when asked about the facility name and location. The practice area is located in Kohoku Ward, next to Tsuzuki Ward. Yuta Takahashi, the representative of the facility, reveals the reason.

“Our hometown is Tsuzuki Ward. We made this practice field with local friends who have been playing baseball together for a long time. I couldn’t find the property I wanted in Tsuzuki Ward, so I made it in the neighboring Kohoku Ward. I made it. “

Mr. Takahashi, who started playing baseball in the third grade of elementary school, played as a pitcher at Sano Nihon University in Tochigi Prefecture, a regular school of Koshien, after working at the local Midori Chuo Senior (currently Yokohama Aoba Senior). He left Yokohama in high school, but his attachment to his hometown remained unchanged. “I wish I could work with friends I met through baseball to create a baseball environment. I think it’s the most fun to work with friends.” For Mr. Takahashi, “friends” through baseball are a little different from “friends”.

The friend who was in charge of designing the driving range was Eri Yoshida’s older brother, nicknamed “Princess Knuckle,” and Yusuke Yoshida, who built a battery when he was a senior. In addition, the practice field was completed centered on senior teammates such as Kazuki Ueda. In January, just before the opening, it was said that the days of working all night continued without air conditioning. Still, it was more fun and rewarding than the cold and fatigue. Mr. Yoshida recalls, “I don’t think there are many opportunities to make something with everyone’s strength as an adult. There were times when my body was tough, but I was excited.”

A total of 6 units, one for pitchers and one for hitting, installed “Rhapsword” introduced by all major baseball teams
