The León City Council, through the Department of Sports, has increased the offer of the Summer ’22 Sports Campuses by 30%, which will have a total of 2,373 places on 26 different campuses, six more than last year. All this will be structured in ten weekly and four fortnightly shifts.
This was explained this morning by the Councilor for Sports of the León City Council, Vicente Canuria, who specified that there will be 23 specific sports campuses identified with a sports modality, plus three multi-sports campuses.
Fortnightly duration of activities
Among the campuses linked to a sports modality are offered Chess, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Handball, Boxing, Climbing, Futsal, Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Leonese Wrestling, Mountain and Adventure, Padel, Skating, Rescue and First Aid, Rugby, Table Tennis and Volleyball. These campuses last fortnightly.
The offer is completed with two Multisport campuses in La Palomera and Hispánico. An Adapted Swimming Campus aimed at people with disabilities. The Gigantes del Basket Campus, in collaboration with the ‘Gigantes’ magazine. And two great novelties, such as the recovery of the Baby-Sport campus for the little ones and the new Kungfu/Wu Shu Campus.
Program ‘Wake Up Active!’
Another novelty is the recovery of the Program ‘Wake up Active!’, a program that responds to the demand of many families in order to facilitate the reconciliation of family and work obligations, with the care of the little ones. In this case, the timetable is extended from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in addition to the main activities of each Campus.
It is an optional program for families, with a weekly duration and a cost of €10/week. Each family will be able to choose as many weeks as they need depending on the shifts in which the boys and girls are enrolled. The activity centers are the Pabellón de La Torre and the Pabellón del Hispánico, depending on the physical location of the campuses.
Complementary activities
In addition to this general offer, the ‘Diver Dxt!’ Program is still present, a free program of complementary activities to diversify the daily program of activities on campus. It is present in all of them and is characterized by the alternative programming of games, workshops or challenges.
One of the star activities is precisely the recreational stay in the pool, which, like the rest of the activities, will be carried out within a necessary security context.
In addition, each participant will be given free sports equipment consisting of a technical shirt, shorts, a street cap and a swimming cap. A kit will be given for each child who signs up with us at any of the campuses.

All sports campuses will be held between July 4 and September 9, except for the Gigantes del Basket Campus, which will coincide with the week of San Pedro and will take place between June 27 and July 2.
Schedules
The Campuses are held in the morning, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., as general hours. Added to this schedule is the complementary ‘Wake Up Active Program!’ from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The campuses will be developed in municipal sports facilities as nerve centers of activities. The activities will be carried out as a priority and preferably, outdoors, in the surroundings of said facilities.
The campuses are intended for children and young people in a birth age range between 2005 and 2017.
Prices and registration
Direct Management Campus (Type A – public prices)
1. Participants registered in León and/or registered in the Municipal Sports Schools of León during the current school year:
a) Basic quotas:
– Multisport: € 38.00.
– Other Sports Campuses: €73.00.
2. Participants not registered in León and not registered in the Municipal Sports Schools of León during the current school year:
a) Basic quotas:
– Multisport: € 43.00.
– Other Sports Campuses: €83.00.
3. Reduced prices
a) For the registration of the second or more siblings/large family (only for those registered in León):
– Multisport: € 33.00.
– Other Sports Campuses: €58.00.
b) For the registration of children enrolled in the Municipal Sports Schools of León during the current school year, with a family situation of unemployment:
– Multisport: € 18.00.
– Other Sports Campuses: €33.00.
c) For the registration of children at risk of social exclusion or lack of protection, who are registered in the Municipality of León:
– 68 places in any of the Type A and B Campuses: free
4. Enrollment in the ‘Wake Up Active!’ Program
– ‘Wake Up Active!’ Program: €10.00 per week.
Indirect management campus (Type B – fees)
In the Climbing, Skating and Mountain and Adventure Campuses, rates have also been set with the same discounts as in public prices. Amounts that have been established through the service concession contract held by Sports Schools with the awardees Naturocio (Climbing Campus), Rollers in Line León (Skating) and Tikiaventura (Mountain and Adventure).
Collaborative management campus between the City Council and external entities (Type C)
Thanks to the institutional collaboration with sports entities and other entities we can, the City Council offers a series of Sports Campuses with differentiated prices for each one of them.
The process of reserving a place and obtaining the registration form will be 100% online or through non-face-to-face means. To do this, each interested party must follow the following steps (expanded in the program of activities):
In type A and B campuses, the place is reserved through the municipal website https://deportes.aytoleon.es/ while in type C it is done through the collaborating entities.
As an aid and if some families consider it necessary, they will be able to obtain telephone assistance through 987 344391 and auxiliary people from Sports Schools will collaborate in the registration process (Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) .
