GALLNEUKIRCHEN. For twelve years she was at the head of the municipality, now she is the head of the Gallneukirchen sports club (SVG): Gisela Gabauer was unanimously elected the new chairwoman at the general assembly.
“The sports club was always very important to me. I’m looking forward to the new task and will use my large network in the Gusental region and beyond,” says Gabauer. She succeeds Alexandra Lichtl, who was no longer available after four years as chairwoman. Egon-Michael Atteneder was confirmed as chairman. He drew a positive balance of the last few years. While many events – including the athletes’ ball, city run and Count IT Cup – have not taken place in recent years due to the corona virus, significant investments have been made in the infrastructure: the construction of a children’s tennis court and a grandstand at the tennis court, the renovation and expansion of the gym and a new, energy-saving one LED floodlights in the stadium and on the training ground, including the match clock, stand out.
Numerous honors
The SVG has almost 1,300 members, the strongest of the twelve sections are football, tennis, judo and gymnastics for all. As part of the General Assembly, numerous honors were also awarded to deserving officials and coaches. The athletes of the year 2021, the triathletes Anja Weilguni, Gudrun Steiner and Joachim Rathbauer, received their trophies.
