On Saturday March 26, Les Volants verdunois, a young badminton association, organised, for the first time in their short history, an official tournament: the third stage of the departmental youth circuit, the club’s first official competition open to young badminton players, chicks to cadets licensed by the French Badminton Federation. For this day, 82 matches were played by 50 players from 7 clubs in the department.
The young people of the club have distinguished themselves: 4 titles out of 7 possible, Matthieu Laforgue wins the young men’s singles category, Flavia Roux wins in the women’s singles category ahead of her sister Orlane, Kimberley Rita wins the women’s singles category youngest in front of another player from the club Félicité Lestoquoy and hopeful Erwan Henry again won the single man chick category. The score table was held by referee Didier Hirtzig and Olivier Deram, competition manager and president of the Volants verdunois. The club was very supported in this organization, partners, friends, volunteers, all contributed to the success of the tournament.
