Hero of the day Luca Zhou capable of hitting the top step of the podium both in the men’s singles and in the men’s doubles together with Alessandro Gozzini while the other medal, that of silver, came thanks to Gianna Stiglich. Perfect day for Zhou in the men’s singles where he didn’t even leave a set to his opponents. The Italian first defeated the Hungarian Kean Gabor Kigyos (23-21; 21-6) and in the final he prevailed on another Hungarian, Adam Konczol, overtaken with a double 21-14.
In the men’s doubles Zhou and Gozzini instead had to resort to the third set in both matches. In the semifinal the Italians first defeated the Hungarians Csanad Horvath and Barnabas Toth (15-21; 21-11; 21-15) and then won the final against the Germans Hannes Bluhdorn and Kjell Wagener (16-21; 21-17; 21) -16).
Gianna Stiglich instead fought until the end in the final against the Thai Sirada Roongpiboonsopit, who won only after the third set (19-21; 21-10; 21-13). The Italian player previously in the semifinal had defeated the Czech Lucie Krulova in two sets (21-10; 22-20).
