Venezuela completed its participation in the South American Women’s Basketball U-18

Venezuela concluded its participation in the Women’s U-18 South American Championship with a defeat against the Bolivian team (57-68), which took seventh place in the regional tournament.

The Venezuelan team began the match with the same quintet as last Friday: Floranghel García, Fabiana García, Georgina Correia, Eduglatriz Castro and Romina Mudarra. While the Bolivian team was presented with: Camila Prado, Sarahi Velazco, Fernanda Rodríguez, Daniela Leaño and Karla Salas.

Bolivia, from the beginning of the match, showed a very defined style of play: high pressure in defense and running the court in offense during the 40 minutes of the game. In this way, it generated problems from the start in Venezuela, where the first quarter was Bolivian (11-19).

For its part, Venezuela recovered in the second quarter, in which it managed to execute offensives with better decision-making and more judgment, which prevented Bolivia from completing even more rapid offensive transitions. At the break, the advantage continued to belong to the altiplano (Bolivia) 29-30.

The third quarter was the most even of the match, while in the last quarter Venezuela found in Georgina Correia a shooter capable of scoring up to three triples, in order to keep the national team in the match, but without being able to achieve victory.

Venezuela bids farewell to the Women’s U-18 South American Championship with a record of 0-5, as a result of losses to Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia. They placed eighth in the tournament, only above Paraguay.
