Westerlo has been in the lead for almost a whole season in 1st division B, but there has been some title stress in recent weeks. It lost in Virton and was unable to win the title against Lommel last night.
Fortunately, Deinze was still there to lend Westerlo a hand. After the defeat of Waasland-Beveren, RWDM was already certain of the jump-offs for promotion and did not really seem to insist anymore to participate for the title until the end.
An own goal by Vorogovski heralded a difficult evening for RWDM, with goals against Dansoko and Challouk after the break.
With that victory, Deinze jumps over Waasland-Beveren to 3rd place, but more importantly, Westerlo is already certain of the title and promotion to 1A on 2 match days from the end. It took 5 seasons to rise again.
