SAME-Same thing in England, Mohamed Salah and Paul Pogba have a slightly different Ramadan fasting time? The answer is because of the geographical location of the City of Liverpool and Manchester, where they are sheltered.
According to the Muslimpro page on Monday (4/4/2022), the Fajr call to prayer in Manchester sounded at 05.00 local time. Meanwhile, the sunset or the Maghrib call to prayer arrives at 19:53.
That means, while in Manchester City, Paul Pogba who defended Manchester United underwent fasting for 14 hours 53 minutes. What about Mohamed Salah who strengthened Liverpool?
The Adhan for Fajr in Liverpool resounded at 05:04 local time. Meanwhile, the call to prayer for Maghrib or sunset came at 19:55 local time.
If calculated, Mohamed Salah underwent fasting in the City of Liverpool for 14 hours 51 minutes. In comparison, Paul Pogba’s fasting time is two minutes longer than Mohamed Salah.
Both Paul Pogba and Mohamed Salah are known as footballers who carry out the true teachings of Islam. They choose to fast for Ramadan even though their respective clubs are playing matches.
Both Mohamed Salah and Paul Pogba were caught breaking their fast in the middle of a match. They chose to break their fast shortly after the call to prayer sounded.
On Saturday 1 June 2019 Madrid time, Liverpool faced Tottenham Hotspur in the 2018-2019 Champions League final which was held at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano. At that time, Mohamed Salah continued to fast even though he was required to appear prime in order to give the Reds a sixth Champions League trophy – Liverpool’s nickname.
At that time, the kick off of the match was held at 21.00 local time, while the Maghrib call to prayer only sounded at 21:44. This means that Mohamed Salah must undergo 44 minutes of the match first to then break his fast. Sure enough, the Twitter account of the Egyptian journalist, Mohamed El Gazar, also uploaded the moment of Mohamed Salah breaking his fast in the middle of the match.
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba was caught breaking his fast in the middle of his team’s match against AS Roma, Friday 30 April 2021 in the early hours of WIB. In an upload on the Manchester United Instagram account @manchesterunited, Paul Pogba is breaking his fast. He is seen carrying out the teachings of the Apostle, namely drinking not standing (in this photo Pogba chooses to squat).
“Break the fast,” wrote the caption uploaded to Instagram Man United, while Pogba was breaking his fast.
